We started by actually playing the game were gonna be creating levels for, we tried the different modes like capture the flag, deathmatch and team deathmatch on a variety of different maps and different weapon setups.
things ive noticed while playing:
respawn points are usually close to a weapon pick up and usually in a safe area like a base or behind cover. sniper positions offer a small amount of cover but a big view of the battlefield.
i find that the maps can be a bit confusing and i tend to get lost a lot because of the lack of features in some areas.
deathmatches are all vs all and are very quick and chaotic, you dont have time to get to sniping positions and you have to keep moving, weapons like the redeemer are hard to use in this mode as youre totally vunerable while guiding it.
capture the flag requires a lot more teamwork and is more fun to play as you can play any sort of role you want, i prefer sniping for example. basicly youve gotta go to the enemy base, steal their flag and get back to your own one.

felt cramped too many players on map, very disorienting
weapons were easy to come by but powerups were hard to find and there were a few dead end corridoors

I was a lot better at this mode mainly due to spawn camping, spawning doesnt give you invincibility so you can watch over a spawn and kill players as they come into the game

Dm chill
bounce boots were fun a decent sized map, im still bad at the game though. The jump boots allowed aerial attacks which was fun

Capture the flag
was good had good teamwork even with friendly fire on, the key is to stick togeather and defend the flag bearer.

Jack hammer
The game mode was hard and required a lot of chasing and the map had a lot of pitfalls which punished the player for not being able to do some quite hard jumps. the game meta was collecting armour so that you can survive more than one shot from the jack hammer weapon.
end result, im incredibly angry
